Iphones and gps tracking

Long story short: my wife had her iPhone stolen when she misplaced it at work. I was instantly able to log into her iCloud account and follow the device all the way back to a residential address, saving her the trouble of searching around the warehouse for a phone that was no longer there. We locked the phone and sent a polite message asking the ‘culprits’ to return it for a (very small) reward, but failing that we had their address to cross-reference on the employee database.

The next day we saw the phone travelling back to her workplace in the early morning, and when she arrived she found the phone had been anonymously returned with no reward asked for.

This story has a happy ending of course, but Apple’s free Find My iPhone service is also able to deal with the less happy outcomes in a way that minimizes your risk for greater losses. Let’s look into the app and see how you can ‘MakeUseOf’ it when your phone is lost or stolen.

Such a helpful app! I was witnessing my daughter began to withdraw without knowing why. After installing ExactSpy, I was shocked to find that a bully from school was tormenting her on social media. I am so grateful to this software for helping me find out what has been troubling my child.

I caught my employee cheating and sharing our client lists with competitors. Thanks to EXACTSPY, I had emails, BBM conversations and meeting records plus I knew exactly whom they were visiting and when due to EXACTSPY's cell phone tracking capabilities.

GPS systems are useful for all sorts of applications. Hikers and campers use recreational GPS navigation to guide them to landmarks, find campsites, or keep them from getting lost. Geocaching, a type of modern treasure hunt, would be absolutely impossible without GPS technology. Recreational GPS uses can be expanded to include many forms of recreation: horseback riding, off-roading, hunting, fishing, boating and more.

It can be really fun after the hike to see exactly where you went on Google Earth or other mapping applications. Your GPS will also display the total elevation you gained or lost, your average speed on the hike, and your moving time and stopped time, among other things. Most GPS receivers can also display your location, whether it is on a topographical map or street map, to help you navigate the forest or urban jungle.

In this site, you’ll find the best GPS for hiking, geocaching and a tight budget. You can also explore our articles on recreational GPS systems to help you make an informed decision on which GPS unit is right for your needs.

Me too.
Most apps will not give a clue to the phone’s owner that it has an app installed on it.
Hold up I just got a text with garbled characters…

My wife and I both have a tracking app on our iPhones – it’s called: “Where’s my iPhone?” Fantastic. I like to go on long motorcycle rides. I try to stay in touch with her to a degree, to let her know, I’m doing alright. But sometimes I may not call for a few hours. She can always know, where I am, and most importantly, as long as the location keeps changing, she knows I’m still moving and not lying in a ditch somewhere.
